- According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan seems to put Bobby Roode vs. James Storm back on hold, and rebuild it for Bound for Glory 2012 PPV in October.

- Slammiversary X tickets go on sale tomorrow for the June 10 show in Arlington, Texas. In addition, Slammaversary VIP Weekend and Travel Packages are also available at ShopTNA.com The packages include tickets to the show, tickets to Six Flags over Texas, several Meet and Greets, breakfast with TNA Stars, a 10th anniversary party, and more.

- Devon Nicholson continued his attack on Kurt Angle today. Nicholson appeared on the Dawg FM Breakfast morning show in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and continued to bash Kurt for pulling out of the US Olympic trials with an injury and yet still working for TNA. After the show, Nicholson continued his onslaught on his Facebook page by posting "Hey Kurt I'm bashing you publically. What are you going to do about it? Stand up for yourself or wimp out again?"

- Lockdown aired at about more than 100 theaters around the country, but the total attendance was probably in the 1,500 range total, with most reports indicating crowds about the same or slightly down from Bound for Glory, reports The Wrestling Observer.

- More notes from the Wrestling Observer/Dixie Carter conversation after she and Eric Bischoff met with Spike TV officials in New York on 4/11.
Regarding taping TV on the road, Dixie said they definitely want to do it and need to do it but it costs nearly $500,000 in total for them to tape on the road and they can’t put the company through that kind of financial drain, particularly if it doesn’t work out.
Carter said over the next few weeks you’ll be seeing changes in how the TV is presented. Among the changes that started this week is that one episode per month (the first being the 4/18 taping that airs on 4/26) will be Open Fight Night. The idea is that a new wrestler will debut, and that new person will pick his opponent. All TNA wrestlers have to answer if they are challenged. They will have three judges as well as Hulk Hogan who will watch their match and determine if they get a contract. In addition, anyone on the roster can issue a challenge for any title.
There will be more focus on younger talent. She categorized the recent period of pushing younger talent on top and somewhat lower ratings as an investment in the future and pushing home grown stars.
Dixie talked about needing a second television show saying two hours isn’t enough per week. She noted that in other parts of the world they have two shows on per week.
She said they are in constant contact with Bjorn Rebney (Bellator) and both talk of ideas to help each other.
TNA President said they would be doing more training camps on the road, noting that’s how they found Jesse Sorensen and Crimson.
She said she thinks 12 PPV shows a year are too many and expects the number to be lowered in the next year or two.
Dixie Carter expects more international touring by 2013, mentioning Mexico and Australia as target markets. She said the idea of 100 to 110 live events per year with 10-15 of them overseas is a target.
She said she thinks Sting is in for the long haul and will be back in 2013.

Never knew they had to spend $500,000 per episode on the road thats nearly a million dollars (yet people keep claming TNA meakes less than a million dollars a year and will die) And they should just cut PPV's down to the big 6.

Half a million to go on the road? Wow, didn't expect that.

What PPVs should they scratch though?

So Roode will face RVD in May. He'll need perhaps three more opponents until BFG. Will it be Anderson, Angle, and Sting again?

Interesting they're thinking of making Storm vs Roode at BFG rather than Slammiversary, if that means Roode is going to be champion for the rest of the year I honestly have no problem with that because he is that good as a heel champion.

finally please cut those ppvs down so when they actually do have a ppv it will be built (hopefully) and it will be outside of the IMpact Zone

So is Open Fight Night going to be like Celebrity Championship Wrestling? I hope not. It could be an exciting way to bring in new people, but on the other hand I wouldn't want it used to bring back Murphy or bring in more limited guys like Rob Terry and Crimson.

They should kick it off with a tag team, as TNA is sorta hurting for them these days.

I have 2 Questions:

1) What do you mean back on hold?

2) do you know if James will be at Sacrifice?

So Basically it takes TNA $9,615 a week to go to arenas ignoring the fact that she could make MORE money if you travel because obviously you loose money but you gain a greater amount of income. I guess Dixie is just waiting for some magic wizard to grant them money to just go out for free.

No. $500,000 per taping (which was bi-weekly when they were doing them). WWE RAW costs roughly $600,000 on average per episode.

If all it costs was a half a million, they would have done it years ago.

And as far as opponents for Roode. I say RVD at Sacrifice. AJ Styles at Slammiversary (and he wins the championship as a big feel-good moment for the company). AJ Styles defends the title against Samoa Joe and Rob Van Dam in a 3 way at Destination X. Bobby Roode wins the title back on television (maybe an on-the-road taping) and wins the rematch with AJ Styles at Hard Justice. Then Sting at No Surrender.

James Storm can get into a feud with somebody like Gunner who could get elevated by working with him (considering the lack of top heels). He can then go on to compete in the Bound For Glory Series and win it all.

I forgot who it was(might have been Jim Cornette) who said it takes WWE $600,000 a week to go on the road + have a live show, and this might include smackdown. I really doubt it would cost the same for TNA. Smaller arenas, double tapings, not live, and WAYYYYY less production value.

If Roode keeps the belt until BFG he either ties Jeff Jarrett's 11 month NWA Title reign if BFG's on the first week of October or passes it if it's the 2nd week.

Regardless of whether they tape 1 episode or 2, until they are able to sell 70% of the arenas, get the proper group to sponsor the shows, and going on the road raises ratings 15-20% consistently there is no way they can do it. The budget for smackdown is roughly around $700,000 per taping, which is very expensive and not something anyone with common sense would do. Going on the road was also one of the drains on wcw's budget in its final years.

As far as roode holding the title that long, they are taking a chance and trying to make him a household name and better heel by the end of the year. They are hopefully thinking longterm.

based on venue they are in, I assume the first 5 Rows are in the 50 dollar range. then again I'm speaking on my sole experience from over a year ago
