Last weekend a round of Australian Rules Football (AFL) featured a number of sickening injuries. This makes you realize how tough AFL players are and that they are the bravest sportsmen in the world. Hope the link works, but have a look at these severe, season-ending for some injuries. Which one is the worst?

EDIT: I meant "rules" in the title sorry. That's annoying because it took me three or four times for this post to work grrrr.....

I'm kinda confused, it this sport based off of American Footbal or European Football or Rugby or all combined into one?

It's it's own game I'm pretty sure. It was started in 1858 in Melbourne, Australia so I don't think it's based on any other sport.

I don't know I was just kind of wondering because this sport does have a lot of other influences from the sports I named above.

Even if you do think that, it's still very fast and very physical and can lead to devestating injuries like the ones in the video. And despite the fact that I am a wrestling fan myself, at least AFL is real, no pre-determined winners lol. The game can draw a crowd of 100,000 on Grand Final day, WrestleMania only tends to get 70-80 thousand.

That's funny because American football players wear all that protection, and I heard that the sport is only done for television ratings.
