That's an assumption that could easily be wrong. It's common sense to challenge assumptions and look for facts, not trust wild hunches and shy away from evidence.

Well the move from Thursday 11pm to 2 hours on a Thursday starting at 9 was the best growth we've seen on Spike. Unfortunately ever since then it's been nothing but "change, change, change". Too much change isn't helping TNA build that relationship they had with the fans back then.

They should ban the word "change" on iMPACT, I personally am sick of hearing it.

HOLD THE PHONE! The viewership went up? But the show sucks. Pritchard is ruining TNA. There was little to no wrestling on it. Hogan was featured all the time. People don't like change, and the show itself was a major change to Impact. How could this BE?!

That is very good if you think it sucks because the shows the IWC hates is usually the higest rated impact.

Can't say it's entirely true but it would make sense if it is. The IWC and casual fans have different criteria for what makes a good wrestling show. I can't remember the last time the IWC liked a show and it got a great rating.

The Internet is full of nothing but hatred for TNA unfortunately it's been that way since day one.

I haven't went to bed before 11 regularly since the 3rd grade.

Anyways it doesn't affect me because I work late a lot on thursdays and DVR the show most of the time. Also I doubt there is going to be much of a ratings boost because of this move, maybe they will pick up a couple more viewers in the last few quarter hours but that is about it..
I'm usually up til about 4-5am every morning.. but I just don't mind TNA coming on an hour earlier because that's less of a wait. Considering where I live TNA doesn't come on till about 10PM now it'll be 9. woot.

And let the excuses begin. So you can doom TNA as soon as they pull a 0.9, no excuses, not even considering the possibility that it is temporary, but as soon as they go up, even a bit, you bring out the sarcastic bullshit just like you do with Russo's mishaps. Let's face it, you just want to see TNA fail to scratch that little itch you got. Plain sad.

uh.. it's worth a gamble. Personally I enjoyed last night's show. Yeah it could have used more wrestling and would have been better pulled off live but compared to the last month or so it was actually pretty good.

Big props to Devon and Bubba for knowing how to work a crowd.
Whatcha' going to do?

Impact Wrestling is a TV show. it's not just about the in ring wrestling. it's a soap opera. the story lines and looks are just as important as the "wrestling". you could have a bunch of great in ring wrestlers, but if they had no story lines and boring looks not many people would be interested in watching.

The point of the storylines, characters, etc is to get people(everyone, casual fans included) interested in the wrestling. Running away from the wrestling entirely(what Russo loves to do) doesn't help the company/wrestling business, it hurts it. Whatever though.

Well, It's about time. I've been lobbying for this for years now. It will help ratings a bit.

In the UK a show moving to 8pm would be seen as a massive plus, putting a show near the start of prime-time.

They are now desperate to increase the ratings at any extent. Sad that they blatantly admit that they are moving to 8 because they can't compete (obvious truth, but still). I will be surprised if this open Fight Night thing makes it pass three episodes. It's nothing more than a desperate ratings ploy, just like so much other stuff they have done in the past two years. All they talk about (Since late 2009) is CHANGE, well, change has failed. Too much change may not be the way to go now. Exactly how much change do you need to finally go to that "next level brother"????. This company is clueless, it's the sad truth. They need to just do one thing, and stick to it, because by constantly making all these changes, it's doing more bad than good.

How exactly is being desperate to increase ratings a bad thing? Should they just sit back and enjoy the 0.9's? Fuck it, we want to give the fans a good show, we don't care about the ratings. Is that the attitude they should have? Isn't this the reason why Ring of Honor is in the shit-pit?

Hell yeah they'll introduce new concepts and experiment. You're acting like they re-branded the company again. They just added a new concept that will air once a month and got themselves in a better time slot. What the hell is the fuss about? I didn't see you flipping out when they said they're going on the road every now and then. That could have been considered as a desperation move for growth, but it was welcomed by every single person. Yet this isn't? That's some backwards ass double standard you got going there.

I'd rather have a TNA that's trying to increase ratings, switch things around, introduce new concepts, change and tweak the product showing that they care about what happens to the company. The last thing any of us would want is for TNA to sit on their asses, do nothing and expect ratings to just come by themselves.

And they are sticking with one thing, they're just tweaking it and adding things to it in hopes of making it better and doing better business. Now how the FUCK is that a bad thing? TNA was pulling the shitty 0.9's and 1.0's even way before they introduced the new concepts. They were pulling both shitty and good ratings before the rebrand. They were pulling both shitty AND good ratings after the re-brand. WAKE UP! That's TNA, regardless of how many changes they make to the product and the frequency by which they come. I've said this a million times already, the reason for the bad ratings is not the product. There are so many other things at play here.

Sticking to one concept and not changing it at ALL in order to draw an audience is moronic. You're automatically assuming changes turn people off the product, yet one of the changes we witnessed (OFN) has been around for just a few days and the rating+viewership actually went up a bit and the other one hasn't even started, yet we're already shitting on it as if it failed.

TNA in 2012 is dramatically different than TNA in 2009, yet the ratings are pretty much the same and overall the company has shown steady growth, new business deals and nothing but improvement in just about every sector. TNA is thriving at the moment, despite what some trolls might think. Ratings never were, are, or will be the most important aspect of a wrestling promotion's success. WWE is pulling 3.0's constantly and every other sector of their business is neck deep in the smelly stuff. Will ratings save them if everything else goes to hell?

TNA has been changing rapidly from day one. They've always done this, it's not a new concept, yet they have grown despite it, or maybe because of it. The whole company is built around change and introducing new ways to look at wrestling. Whether it's your six sided ring, the dancing chicks in the cages, the X-Division, Open Fight Night, the way they shoot their backstage promos, becoming Impact Wrestling, introducing people like Sting, Hogan, Hardy, Christian, Bischoff or relying on their originals - TNA has been built on changing things. The minute they stop is the minute they die.
