i saw silva with the triangle, that tap was like one time.thought you have to tap a couple times to submit.
from what i saw it looked like he was trying to get out of the hold,i might be wrong though.

It was iffy, no doubt. But I think he tapped. Fedor only tapped one time. Hopefully Chael can work himself back into contention. Felt bad for him, he was fighting an amazing fight until he got caught in the triangle.

It also appears that Big Nog is out of the fight at UFC 119 against Frank Mir. Nog has been replace by Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. WAR CC!!

Sep 26, 2010 UFC 119 PPV Report Quick Results

Frank Mir def. Mirko Cro Cop via 3rd Round KO
Ryan Bader def Antonio Rogerio Nogueira via Unanimous Decision
Chris Lytle def. Matt Serra via Unanimous Decision
Sean Sherk def. Evan Dunham via Split Decision
Melvin Guillard def. Jeremy Stephens via Split Decision
CB Dolloway def. Joe Doerksen via 1st Round Submission
Matt Mitrione def. Joey Beltran via Unanimous Decision
Thiago Tavares def. Pat Audinwood via 1st Round Submission
Waylon Lowe def. Steve Lopez via Split Decision
TJ Grant def. Julio Paulino via Unanimous Decision
Sean McCorkle def. Mark Hunt via 1st Round Submission

UFC 119 was a surprisingly good night of fights, well except for one boring main event that was saved by a knock-out. The show did have its fair share of slug-fests on the live spike prelims and also on the PPV portion of the card. But, the last fight is always the most important fight as it sends the audience home, and Joe Rogan put it best that this fight was almost like a sparring match between Frank Mir and Cro Cop. Mir spent the first two rounds just clenching Cro Cop against the cage not really doing anything, constantly being separated by Herb Dean. Finally after clenching Cro Cop against the cage, he hit him with a knee that knocked out Filipovic out could. The knock-out in the third definetily saved this fight and the show. I’m guessing Mir will face the loser of Velasquez/Lesnar.

The co-main event saw Ryan Bader assert himself in the upper echelon of light-heavyweights as he controlled Lil Nog with his take-downs. Although Nog made a fight out of it, and it wouldn’t have been crazy if he got the nod for the decision as although getting taken down he was able to get back up in the last two rounds and do some damage striking with body kicks and good combinations. Bader repeatedly tried for take-downs, but seemingly couldn’t do anything with them. It was a bit surprising to see that all three judges gave all three rounds to Bader, as the third round was really a toss-up, with Bader doing nothing with his take-downs and Nogueira connecting with Bader on some combinations. This win will probably set up a big fight for Bader, maybe with the loser of Machida/Rampage.

The Serra/Lytle re-match was far different than their first encounter which was a really lackluster fight. Both men went at it, and Lytle was able to use his superior boxing to grind out a hard-fought decision victory. Serra was definitely rocked quite a few times in the fight, but he showed heart by surviving and hitting Lights-out with some good punches. It was clear that Lytle won all three rounds though, as not only did he connect with more blows he also caused more damage, cutting open the lower eye of Matt Serra.

The former UFC Light-weight Champion Sean Sherk seemingly stole the victory from Evan Dunham as two of the judges gave him the bout. Besides the idiotic judging, it was a helluva fight. The first round saw Sherk scoring two slams but almost getting caught in a number of guillotines. Sherk then came out in the second round almost getting tapped but getting some take-downs. Similar to the Bader fight he wasn’t able to do anything with them and he got tooled on the feet for the later part of the second round, clearly the round should have been judged in Dunham’s favor just by the amount of damage he did to the muscle shark. The third round was also a Dunham round as Sherk acted like a punching bag getting hit with punches, knees, and kicks from Dunham almost getting finished a number of the times. This decision will probably have quite the outcry among the MMA community but it wasn’t the first bad decision and it won’t be the last.

Melvin Guillard, trying to get on a consistent track with his MMA career now that he is training with Greg Jackson, may have started just that. With him barely etching out a 29-28 win over Stephens. Guillard was able to take both rounds with his more powerful striking, but he seemed to have tired in the third as Stephens landed a great punch late in the round. Both men traded some hard nut shots in the first round. Now that Guillard has this close decision win it will be exciting to see if he can continue this win streak as he has always had the moniker of never living up to his true potential.

The two Spike-prelims fight were pretty entertaining. The Mexicutionar Joey Beltran lost against the former NFL player and TUF 10 alumni Matt Mitrione is a fun heavyweight slug-fest. Although it was a bit sloppy, it was still entertaining as both men hit each other with everything they had. The Doberman CB Dollaway also got an impressive win over MMA veteran Joe Doersken, after submitting him in the first round with a guillotine of sorts. He got closed guard with the guillotine, but he couldn’t get the tap. He finally got it after getting what looked to be like anaconda choke.

The other two preliminary fights shown was the controversial Mark Hunt losing to Internet Sensation Sean McCorkle and Thiago Tavares tapping out “Awesomely Awesome” Pat Audinwood. Both fights ended in the first round with submission. McCorkle got his submission win with a nasty kimura from the bottom. Tavares, who looks like he put on quite a bit of muscle locked on a guillotine choke standing to get the win over Audinwood in a quick fight.

wow what is up with the up coming UFC fights outside of ufc 121 there is nothing to look forward to. Why are guys who got there asses hand to them in there last fight main eventing a ppv only in the ufc. Why should I care about a Rampage and Machida fight especially when one guy does care if he loses Rampage is done get a clue Dani white he only cares about his acting career stop forcing people to fight stop treating your fighter with legal action when they have no motivation to fight.

Jake Sheilds update

- Dana White has gone on record saying that if Jake Shields beats Martin Kampmann at UFC 121 later this month, He may well be the number one contender for the Welterweight title. Shields (25-4-1) This will be Shields first fight in the UFC after coming from Strikeforce where he was the Middleweight Champ and most recently beat Dan Henderson for his 14th straight win. It is unknown if Kampmann would gain the number 1 contender spot should he defeat Shields.

- Former Ultimate Fighter champs Joe Stevenson(Season 2 Welterweight winner) and Mac Danzig (Season 6 winner) have verbally agreed to face each other Dec. 11 at UFC 124 in Montreal. UFC 124 will be headlined Josh Koscheck vs. Georges St-Pierre for he Welterweight title.

Saw no one as posted in this area for a while so I thought I might.

I saw that on the news just before. I never thought that I would see Brock Lesner like that.

Been a while since I checked on this. Glad to see it's been pinned. I'm very excited about the UFC/WEC merger. It's great that the fighters in the WEC are getting to show what they can do on the big stage now.
